The tool set:

– A sponge: one soft like the usual sponge for dishwashing and one harder. Even a metal sponge is better for removal of some truly persistent dry stains from metal objects.

– Two bowls: one medium sized only for the detergent and one large bowl only for clean water. This is a very essential step in order to reduce the chance from spreading out dirt by using just one bowl with dirty water.

– A stiff spatula: it will help wipe off the excess of the dislodged dirt from the kitchen countertop or from the rug on the floor. It will also help you for an evenly spreading of the compounds onto the flat surfaces such as tiles and laminate floorings.

– A grooming brush: a very useful tool that is perfect for reaching through tiny spaces and areas, as well as cleaning long narrow areas such as grout lines or between the joints of the walls and the threshold.

– Clean cloths and paper towels: the paper towels are flawless for polishing glass surfaces such as windows and mirrors. The clean cloths are used for almost every object when home cleaning.

– Cleaning detergents: get yourself the needed commercial detergents to ensure better results. If you worry about the strength of the detergent or about the higher price – make yourself your own homemade cleaning detergents with products that you can already find in the kitchen.

– Cleaning machines: the vacuum cleaner should be high on the list, but it`s often insufficient for a complete kitchen cleaning. Rent a professional floor-cleaning machine, which is usually cheaper than hiring a whole team of professional cleaners.

This is not a complete tool set, but it features some of the most important tools that you will have to have for the big house cleaning. The kitchen is not an exception and it even sees the most soiled spots and dirt. It comes to dry spots from kitchen grease like butter, BBQ sauce, tomato sauce, etc. Yet a better idea is to begin by defrosting the fridge and the freezer, while dealing with these heavy stains in the meantime.

The main steps to follow:

Soak up the racks of the oven and the burner grit of the stove in a degreaser right in the sink or in a bigger container. Just a couple of hours in the degreaser will make the removal of the dirt much easier. In the meantime, clean thoroughly all the interior compartments of the oven and the stove by paying more attention to the ventilation and lighting systems. Use only soft towels and cloths in order to avoid scratching or damaging the metal surfaces.

Clean the soaked items with a stiff brush. Rub the hardest dried stains with a metal brush if needed. Then, rinse thoroughly and let them dry before reattaching in the oven and the stove.

Remove all the compartments of the fridge and the freezer, then, clean them individually with homemade detergents. Treat the hardest stains with the most powerful detergent, but make sure that it is non-toxic if you choose a commercial one. All the inner surfaces of the fridge should also be cleaned and wiped dry. Another important thing is to clean the cooling coils on the back of the fridge from dust and dirt.

Carpet cleaning might be more challenging if you have large carpets and rugs or if the dining table is located in the kitchen. Nevertheless, with the right domestic detergents and tools for spot cleaning, you can achieve awesome results. Put the wet carpets to dry naturally on a sunlight while cleaning all other light stains in the kitchen.
